Size Measuring Guide
A perfect fit for your ultra-marathon running shoes is important for comfort and performance. Follow these tips to measure your foot size at home:
General Tips:
- Measure your feet at the end of the day as they're at their largest due to swelling.
- In between sizes? One foot is bigger than the other? Take the larger size.
- It's best to measure every year. Your size could change over time.
What You'll Need:
- A piece of paper larger than your foot,
- A pen or pencil,
- A ruler or measuring tape,
- Socks of the thickness you'll wear with the shoes.
Steps:
- Stand on the paper in the socks you'll wear with the shoes.
- Use the pen or pencil to mark the end of your longest toe and the back of your heel. It's important to measure both feet as their size can vary.
- Match your measurements to our size chart to find the best fit. If you're between sizes, we suggest choosing the larger size for better comfort.

The proof is in the eating.
Adventure and athleticism take many forms. In January 2025, ultrarunner and race director Jamil Coury toed the line for a chance to win a year's supply of free burritos. The challenge: run as many miles as possible outside an Arizona restaurant. What followed was an absurd commitment to athleticism and competition that saw him run more than 730 miles. And his shoe of choice for over 600 of those miles? A single pair of the new Mount to Coast H1s.

Created through a process of advanced supercritical foaming, each pair of CircleCELL™ midsoles is made from up to 20 pounds (9 kilograms) of organic waste and residual biomass. Despite its sustainability credentials, CircleCELL™ delivers energy return on par with PEBA, with almost double PEBA's running lifespan.
Mount to Coast VersaGrip™ is engineered to deliver exceptional traction, confidence and durability across all terrain, so you can run to the trails from your front door without ever missing a step. Worried that a road shoe will be out of its depth on the trails? VersaGrip™ has got your back. This is optimal performance for real-world situations.
The TUNEDFIT™ Dual Lacing System offers separately customizable fit for the forefoot and midfoot. Because we know that in the ultrarunner’s pursuit of distance, feet can swell and change shape, and having a shoe that can adapt to those changes on the fly can be the difference between minor discomfort and injury.
The H1 features a dual-zone upper. Across the top portion, the shoe is engineered with jacquard for adaptive fit and comfort, while the lower part is crafted for exceptional durability with a high-performance woven fabric, reinforced with aramid fibers that are five times stronger than steel.

I’m 70km to the H1’s - my first pair of MtC’s! Love the comfort and the roomy toe box. I’m in the UK on the east coast and my runs are 60/40 trail to tarmac and the H1’s are exactly what I’ve been looking for. I’ll be running through the winter in these for my winter runs so hopefully they go the distance over the next 4 months 👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼
All I have to say is that I am really impressed how the H1 performs on all types of terrain from tarmac to gravel and even on technical mountain trails. Love the fit and feel of this shoe and even went a half size down because I love snug fit. The shoe feels plush and the midsole offers great levels of cushioning and energy return. They feel great on long runs and I’m looking forward to using them in my next race which is a 50 miler. Looking forward to many enjoyable miles in my H1’s and definitely recommend them.
I already had the T1s, which I love, but since a lot of my running is on more mixed terrain I was curious to try the H1s. While I wasn't planning on them becoming my go to shoe for basically everything, they instantly did. It's pretty hard to pinpoint what kind of magic formula MTC has stumbled upon but in over 15 years of running, I've never worn a pair of shoes that make my legs and feet feel this comfortable – let alone on both roads and (light trails). I'm also 6'6" so running comfortably usually means sacrificing responsiveness. The H1s however feel light and fast. The T1s will remain my trail beasts, but for everything else, it's the H1s all the way.
I am really pleased with the ride and the weight of these shoes. I use them mostly on gravel and light trails. However for me the lugs could have been just a little more profound to handle mud or wet leafs a bit better. The shoes lean more towards road than to trail in my opinion. That is just a thought, not a critic. A second thought is that my expectations were maybe a bit too high because of the hyped reviews I found. It surely is a good, light and fun shoe and pretty versatile too but not that spectacular. Again, that is not a drawback of the shoe but the hype is maybe a little over the top. My only -very small- issue with the H1 is that I struggle a bit to get the lacing good and evenly balanced. I always feel that the lacelock part is always more loose or more tight than the short classic laces. I would have preferred classic laces over the whole length and would have appreciated if MTC added classic full length laces in the box so you can choose. Bottomline is that I am satisfied and hope that the shoes will proof to be durable.
