So far these are great. Great support/cushion. I like them so far
I bought these shoes to run in but I get so many complements when I use them for daily use that I'm thinking of getting another pair! I did an 8K and my legs did not feel fatigued at all as it had the perfect amount of bounciness. The build quality is great and I would say it's definitely worth the price. It fits snug on the toe box area, but I like it like that.
These are so close to a 5 star for me, but there is a disclaimer the toe box being slightly more narrow and for me I did have some rubbing on my pinkie toe when running, but not with general wear so these will be my gym shoes while I've just ordered a pair of R1 for my running needs! The black and white look really sharp as well.
Ran 5k as a first try and my feet felt so good. Perfect size, super comfortable and easy to walk and run with.
Can’t wait to run more with them
Not bad but there are more reputable brands for the same cost or less.
These are by far the best pair of shoes I’ve had that are designed for the purpose of running. They’re super stable, they fit true to size. They absorb so much of the impact while running. It feels like you can find your perfect stride with these and not have to worry a bit about your feet hurting at the end of your runs. Already been raving to my friends about these. 11/10, will buy again.
Went on my first run with my S1's and they felt really nice. I took the chance on these after reading reviews. They have a nice, firm feet. During the run I felt really stable and connected to the ground. They feel like they are going to last forever. Really happy with the purchase so far and looking forward to putting some miles on these!
Got these a couple months ago, and I’m just getting into running. These shoes have significantly helped take my training to the next level. Will for sure be coming back this way for more and using them in upcoming hyrox and spartan races!
It took about 30 miles to break in but I’m a believer. Was able to push 7 min miles in these comfortably for 10 miles. Great feel to these shoes. If you’re on the fence go for it
No discomfort issues on my first run! I used on trails, on dirt road, and on a post run workout!
Got my S1’s early this week and so far have done 2 runs, a 3 and 6 mile run. They fit just right and it almost feels like the shoes become one with my feet! Impact with the ground is soft but yet great stability. I have a 12-15 mile run this weekend so looking forward to see how it does! Excited!
I bought the S1 model and ran in it for the first time today. Just a short run to try it out and right out of the box, they felt very comfy, lots of room in the toe box and just enough spring, but not too bouncy. I can't wait to run a longer run in these great shoes.
I’m seriously impressed with this shoes! They have good cushion and yet don't feel too plushy and still feel responsive (which I think a lot of other shoes that offer thick cushion are lacking!) and they are very comfortable. I can’t wait to log a lot of miles in them and try the R1.
Wow! Been running in my pair of S1's for a couple of weeks. Absolutely love them! Most of my miles are road miles so Mount to Coast is perfect. Planning on running a road 100 miler in December and Mount to Coast will be the shoe! S1 or R1. Look forward to purchasing the R1 soon!
More structured than most shoes I’ve been running in (NB Rebel 4, ASICS Novablast). Nice road feel and responsive but firm foam. Feet and legs feel less sore after a run.
I ordered the S1s after looking at them for awhile and decided to pull the trigger. I’m glad I did I love how comfortable and stable they are. They feel great on my feet and they look stylish and appealing at the same time. I will highly recommend these shoes to anyone and am looking forward to researching the P1s now.
What I got out of this shoe was not what I expected. I have been experimenting excruciating plantar
Fasciitis which has left me sidelined from running for a long time. I bought this shoe to hopefully tolerate some moderate tempo longer runs and they delivered. What was surprising was that they not only relieved the foot pain but it almost completely disappeared. I’m not a shoe expert, maybe it’s the high drop or the proprietary cushion but the pain relief was so significant that they are now my everyday and work shoes where I spend 12hrs on my feet. Will be purchasing another pair. I do wish they had more color options though.
Love these shoes! So lightweight and comfortable but well cushioned and stable as well. I lift as well as light cardio and about 15 miles of road work a week. Definitely a fan, not to mention, looks wise, they are pretty friggin dope!
One of the best running shoes I have bought. I would highly recommend.
First run with these out of the box was the day after a track session. Legs were a little clunky and blocked up and was looking for a nice, long Z2 run. My expectation was that it was gonna be a bit of a grind but I was so happily surprised when I took my first couple strides in the S1. The flow just kept getting better and what I thought was gonna be a bit of a slog ended up being an enjoyable run. These are light, they guide your foot into a really natural position and feel great under foot. The ride is great. Now I just have to get them dirty!
Only about 10 miles so far but they have been great, very comfortable. Small brown stain right out of the box which doesn't really matter but I thought was weird for new shoes.
To be honest, when I first tried the shoes on, I thought they were too comfortable to possibly perform well. Now after about 100 miles in them I can say that I’m completely blown away. Upon putting them on, the mid sole feels soft and the upper hugs your foot like a sock. I have a standard shaped foot and I traditionally prefer enough space in the forefoot for my intrinsic foot muscles to function as they should (I don’t like when shoes squeeze my toes). When walking around in these S1’s, it feels like I have nothing on. I have put in 10 runs and the shoe consistently allows my feet to move as they would naturally. They feel light and just flow. There are no hotspots, and I somehow have managed to completely avoid any blisters in these shoes, something that I have never been able to say about a new pair of shoes. I also have dealt with a big toe issue for years - these shoes make me forget about my feet and allow me to just run - that’s how it should be.
These S1 trainers are my new favorite.
I got the R1 and S1 together and have already written an extensive review about the R1. I haven't spent as much time with the S1 as I have with the R1 but I can say it's really nice although the fit, feel and ride are slightly different. The fit is a little more snug than the R1 but in a good way. The ride is smooth and protective. It really helps in keeping a consistent pace over long distances. As mentioned in my R1 review, it's refreshing to run in a medium stack shoes without a plate. The ride is more natural and it's good to not just bounce along with too much assistive technologies that are the rage in running shoes these days. The MTC shoes get to the essence of what running is about. I'm not giving up on those fun and bouncy plated shoes, but when I want to run naturally and let my legs and body do the work, the R1 and S1 are the shoes I'll lace up.
Since two years ago I started running and after my last half marathon in May, my knees were hurting for almost two months. Then I knew that was because I was not using the right shoes. I got this shoes and something feel different about this ones and I am very ready to run my next half marathon with these shoes!
Nice looking, light and cushioned shoe, but the stability is on the minimal side. If you are a heavier runner and or require a ""stable"" shoe, this is probably not the shoe for you.
I'm so happy to get rid of my disappointing pile of shoes! The S1 wraps my feet so well and supports me just where I need it with its one-piece upper. I threw out all my other running shoes, and I did years straight of ultra running. It also has more toughness in the midfoot from zero-sag material, which is right where I land most on my two-hour-plus runs and my neighborhood runs. S1 feels better for each run, and even through winter conditions, the upper protected me. Totally impressed in the PNW.
As an ultra runner, I have never had a shoe that felt so stable throughout multi hour runs, this is best shoe I have ever had, please make a trail version!
I have spent thousands trying different running shoes across all the major brands. This is the perfect shoe that balances weight, comfort, stability, cushioning, feel, etc. I am so happy I found these. Please, please give them a try.
I was hesitant getting these initially. I have wide feet and have struggled with Hoka, Saucony, and other shoes with a toe box that rubs. This has been a game changer for long runs that are perfect for getting in the long miles and cruising. They are comfortable and not super responsive and feel perfectly responsive for hours.
I’ve gotten multiple compliments while wearing them people say they look “sleek”. They fit true to size have a slightly wide toe box though. I ran a couple miles in them super comfortable and durable so far.
