Size Measuring Guide
A perfect fit for your ultra-marathon running shoes is important for comfort and performance. Follow these tips to measure your foot size at home:
General Tips:
- Measure your feet at the end of the day as they're at their largest due to swelling.
- In between sizes? One foot is bigger than the other? Take the larger size.
- It's best to measure every year. Your size could change over time.
What You'll Need:
- A piece of paper larger than your foot,
- A pen or pencil,
- A ruler or measuring tape,
- Socks of the thickness you'll wear with the shoes.
Steps:
- Stand on the paper in the socks you'll wear with the shoes.
- Use the pen or pencil to mark the end of your longest toe and the back of your heel. It's important to measure both feet as their size can vary.
- Match your measurements to our size chart to find the best fit. If you're between sizes, we suggest choosing the larger size for better comfort.

The proof is in the eating.
Adventure and athleticism take many forms. In January 2025, ultrarunner and race director Jamil Coury toed the line for a chance to win a year's supply of free burritos. The challenge: run as many miles as possible outside an Arizona restaurant. What followed was an absurd commitment to athleticism and competition that saw him run more than 730 miles. And his shoe of choice for over 600 of those miles? A single pair of the new Mount to Coast H1s.

Created through a process of advanced supercritical foaming, each pair of CircleCELL™ midsoles is made from up to 20 pounds (9 kilograms) of organic waste and residual biomass. Despite its sustainability credentials, CircleCELL™ delivers energy return on par with PEBA, with almost double PEBA's running lifespan.
Mount to Coast VersaGrip™ is engineered to deliver exceptional traction, confidence and durability across all terrain, so you can run to the trails from your front door without ever missing a step. Worried that a road shoe will be out of its depth on the trails? VersaGrip™ has got your back. This is optimal performance for real-world situations.
The TUNEDFIT™ Dual Lacing System offers separately customizable fit for the forefoot and midfoot. Because we know that in the ultrarunner’s pursuit of distance, feet can swell and change shape, and having a shoe that can adapt to those changes on the fly can be the difference between minor discomfort and injury.
The H1 features a dual-zone upper. Across the top portion, the shoe is engineered with jacquard for adaptive fit and comfort, while the lower part is crafted for exceptional durability with a high-performance woven fabric, reinforced with aramid fibers that are five times stronger than steel.

I've been a big fan of the R1s since their release, and I really wanted to try the H1s. They have not disappointed me. A really well made pair of shoes that fit well and are reliable is lots of different conditions. I live in an area that gets a lot of rain and the hills are chalky, so I was surprised to find that these shoes gripped the trails as well as they do. I have used them on road races as well and find they are quick, and comfortable, but maybe more suited to gravel and trail running. I also like that there is a half size option, I'm lucky that the half size is available in my size, perhaps offering this in more sizes would benefit other runners.
I can't fault these shoes for the price. They were also delivered very quickly.
For most of us who hyperfixate on this hobby of ours, finding the right shoe is a journey riddled with the duds, close calls, maybes and if you’re lucky “this feels right!”
For me that pair of shoes for the longest time was the first iteration of the Brooks Hyperion Max. A solid reliable workhorse that I ran in way past it was still good for it, and to be honest, while there were shoes since that filled that shoe vacancy, none ever felt as right… till I decided to buy the H1s.
I didn’t believe the hype online, across the multiple Reddit forums. For me, it was a curiosity about a brand that was trying to shake up the market and doing so with clean designs, and eco conscious materials while promising something that had the promise of good. I lacked a reliable enjoyable road to trail runners that could get me through the muddy Thames side towpaths, and so I bought the H1s thinking, if they’re fine, this will do me well.
I took them, dangerously, on a 22k maiden run and was blown away. They don’t scream bounce, scream excitement, but slowly, over multiple kilometres, give you a nice pop and then some. They’re stable without feeling restrictive, firm-ish without feeling brick like. They felt comfortable from the first k to the next and in the 3ish weeks that I’ve had these, I’ve already racked close to 70k on those.
For all the trainers I could choose to run in, I pick those. I often have to remind myself to rotate others, because for me, they have very quickly become my one running shoe that “just feel right!” Perfect lockdown, endless comfort, and just fun.
The perfect shoe for me is one that you forget about on a run, and while I now annoy my running pals with glowing recommendations and praises for this on the regular, I truly do forget about them on my feet when I run.
Already contemplating spending for a second pair. They’re that good!
I love it for my trail running, comfortable for long distance with a strong grip which surprise me.
Please produce more colour because I love it And I want them to become my shoes for every day also
Love these shoes … have been looking for some decent road/trail shoes for quite a while… and these work really well. Downhill runs especially seem notably better and even after a four hour run they still feel really comfortable. They lack a bit of grip on technical rocky trails, but they are not really designed for that. No problems with fit for me, and I have relatively wide feet. All in all a great running shoe.
